Played R6 (which caused the vibration) and the vibration reduced to half, or even less! I managed to install the cooler vertically. Screw it down and give it a gentle wiggle with your hand to make sure it doesn't move. You don't need to wrench the screwdriver hard to screw them down, but it should be tight enough that there's no wiggle in the heatsink. Then you would know if that is what is causing it or not.Įither way if the heatsink itself is vibrating the way it was then it most likely isn't properly screwed down. It would be just as easy to open the side panel and unplug the CPU fan from the header to see if that stops the vibration. If the fan is causing the vibrations then setting it to 100% would really either make no difference or just make it worse, not better.

Run the system with the PSU sitting next to the case but not touching it and see if the CPU cooler still vibrates. If remounting the CPU cooler still doesn't fix it, and for whatever reason you really think it's the power supply causing the vibrations, you can test it by removing the power supply unit from the case but leaving the cables plugged in. You may as well do this since you need to remount the cooler anyway to get it properly secured and stop the vibrations. You should rotate the cooler 90 degrees so the fan is pulling air from the front of the case with the hot air coming out of it exhausting towards the rear of the case. The CPU fan is right up against the graphics card and is going to be restricted from sucking in air to cool the heatsink. I also would not recommend having it the way you have it mounted. It's possible when you moved the computer around and installed the new PSU that it came loose. The CPU cooler must not be mounted securely to the motherboard. The RM650x has a semi-passive fan, so there's actually a chance the fan in the PSU isn't spinning at all. Here is a video, the capture rate of my camera is slow so it it looks funny.
